How smoothly it goes on, how good it looks and how easy it is to clean afterwards: as a latex wearer, these everyday experiences are why I keep refining the formulas.
SilicoCat began with my own needs. My aim has always been simple: thoughtfully made, reasonably priced care options for people who love latex.
01 / THE STARTING POINT
When I couldn't find what I needed,
I started making it myself.
I have laboratory research experience and a background in chemistry. But my reason for formulating these products was practical: suitable latex care products were not easy to find.
The imported products I found were expensive, available through few channels and harder to obtain because of liquid shipping restrictions. Pure silicone oil was an option, but I wanted more than just an oil to use: documented origins and purity, with performance that met my needs.
I brought my research experience into everyday use, gradually developing formulas for different situations through repeated formulation and hands-on testing.

Dressing, shine and cleaning each need a different approach.
The smoothness you want when dressing and the lasting shine you want from care call for different considerations. Over the years, I have kept refining the formulas so that each product has its own role.

03 / FROM PERSONAL USE TO A BRAND
Made for myself at first,
then taken further by friends.
I did not set out to start a brand. The formulas were made for my own use, and I was the first to see how they felt and performed.
Later, a friend tried my formula, liked it and shared it with other friends. Through word of mouth, the products gradually became known in the community and gained more support.
From early labels featuring a cat-person portrait to a distinct product identity and sales channels in different places, SilicoCat gradually became a brand. It was an unexpected journey, and it made me value every expression of trust.
